Chemical etching machine for glass products

What are the advantages of chemical etching process?

Compared to mechanical polishing process, chemical etching process has a shorter process takt time, and makes glass workpieces tougher when this process is done. Strength of glass surface can be up to about 3 times greater.

What are the advantages of single substrate process type?

Differing from batch (dip, cassette) process type, there is no need to use jigs hence no jig marks will be left on the glass surface.
In comparison with batch (dip, cassette) process type, evenness of the whole glass is improved.
Glass substrates are conveyed in a horizontal lying position, which makes ultra-thin glass slimming process possible.

What are the sizes available for chemical etching?

We have fabrication records for machines which can be used to process glass workpieces measuring from 20 mm×120 mm chip size to 6th generation LCD substrate size (1500 mm×1850 mm).
Fabrication of machines for processing 8.5th generation (2200 mm×2500 mm) substrates is also available.
It is possible to process glass workpieces to a total thickness of 0.05 mm.

Chemical dimple suppression machine for glass products

Where are dimples from?

When carrying glass workpieces, on the glass surface small flaws or indentation cracks may be generated. After a glass workpiece with small flaws or indentation cracks on its surface undergoes a chemical etching process, through etching, these flaws or indentation cracks will expand and become as dimples.

What are the advantages of chemical dimple suppression process?

The purpose of this process is to make the dimples on the glass surface, which expand after chemical etching, hard to be detected.
Take one case for example, generation rate of dimples under prescribed scale is reduced by 60 ~ 90%. The result also depends on the condition of glass surface before chemical etching.
Takt time of chemical dimple suppression process is 50 secs. Dimple suppression can also be performed by mechanical polishing, however, takt time of mechanical polishing is generally ranged from 5 ~ 10 minutes.

Anti-Glare (AG) processing machine for glass products

What is Anti-Glare (AG) process for glass products?

In AG process, chemical AG treatment is performed on the surface of glass to form microasperities. Through AG process, property of anti-glare※ under sunlight is given to the surface of glass.

  *Anti-glare: preventing harsh, brilliant light

Cleaning machine

What kind of methods are used for cleaning?

There are representative long-established methods such as: ultrasonic cleaning, high-pressure cleaning, two-fluid cleaning bubble, cleaning, shower (spray) cleaning, brush roller cleaning, chemical cleaning with cleaning solvent (acid/ alkaline/ neutral), and electrolytic degreasing.

Is it possible to wash off grease or particles adhering to the workpieces?

It is possible. We offer complete cleaning methods consist of methods from the above and the conformable cleaning solvent solution.

Metal etching machine

What are the available sizes for process?

Workpiece size is unspecified. We have many machine fabrication records in which the process workpiece size is up to 1000 mm in length, 700 mm in width, and 0.1 – 0.5 mm in thickness. We also offer machines applicable to workpieces in other size.

Conversion treatment machine

What is conversion treatment?

Generally, conversion treatment is a chemical treatment in which films are coated to metal surfaces. This treatment is usually performed for the purpose of coating pre-treatment or for corrosion resistance improvement.
There are typical methods like chromate treatment, phosphate coating treatment and black oxide treatment. Plating treatment also belongs to conversion treatment.

Electropolishing machine

Is this machine applicable to burr removing?

Our electropolishing machine is applicable to burr removing. It also depends on the shape and size of the burrs.

Is this machine applicable to making workpieces glossy?

Our electropolishing machine is applicable to making workpieces glossy. There are some cases where the expected level of glossiness cannot be achieved due to materials of the workpiece.

Is this machine applicable to improving corrosion resistance?

Our electropolishing machine is applicable to improving corrosion resistance, but only limited to the materials to which electropolishing is applicable.

To what materials can electropolishing process be applied?

We specialize in SUS304 and SUS316. We are also capable of treating SUS630. For other materials, please contact us.

Is targeted surface roughness achievable?

It depends on the situations. Electropolishing is in micro-scale, and due to the scale this process is greatly dependent upon conditions of the base material and pre-treatment specifications of the workpieces.

How much is the polishing amount?

The amount ranges from a few µm to 50 µm. Polishing amount changes with process specification corresponding to the purpose. As long as the process specification is fixed, polishing amount will be the same in each polishing process.

Is it possible to eliminate residues generated from electropolishing liquid?

It is possible. Hot pure water cleaning equipment and ultrasonic cleaning equipment are both standard equipment in our company. We also provide multistage cleaning system in accordance with customers’ required specifications.

We need our machines to be fabricated without disclosing our know-hows in electropolishing process.

We are able to respond to such requirements. We fabricate machines in compliance with the contents of costumers’ “procurement specifications”.

We have no experience in electropolishing, but we want to order machine fabrication.

We are able to respond to your needs. Process development will be conducted by our member company, and the result will be reflected on the machine design.

*Process development will be conducted until passing customers’ evaluation tests.
*Process conditions will not be disclosed until formal order of machine fabrication.

Do you offer any countermeasures against corrosion?

We offer countermeasures against corrosion. Our engineers having accumulated experiences in electropolishing mass production will design the machines from customers’ point of view.

Coating machine

What kind of machine is a spray coater?

Spray coater is a kind of coating machine which coats base materials such as glass and printed substrates by applying coating liquid (e.g., photoresists and the like) in the form of sprays.
There are various spraying types such as air spray, ultrasonic spray, and electrostatic spray.
As an advantage of using this type of machine, single-sided coating for base materials is selectable.
On the other hand, because the coating liquid is sprayed to base materials, it brings some disadvantages such as coating liquid adhesion on the inner walls of process chamber, and bigger loss in chemicals due to liquid atomization.

What kind of machine is a dip coater?

Dip coaters perform film coating onto base materials such as glass and metals through dipping the base materials into tanks filled with coating liquid (e.g., photoresists and the like) from which the base materials are pulled up afterwards.
The advantage of this machine is that surplus coating liquid will return to the tanks, so as to suppress loss in chemicals.
The disadvantage of this machine is that coating method through immersing base materials is not applicable to single-sided coating.

Developing machine

What kind of process do developing machines perform?

There are process types including shower type, immersion type, horizontal conveyance, standing-position conveyance type conveying workpieces in a standing position, and hanger conveyance type. Our developing machines perform developing process with conveying methods applicable to the workpieces.

What kind of chemicals can be used?

Alkali aqueous solution and organic solvent-based chemicals are mainly used.

Photoresist stripping machine

What kind of process do photoresist stripping machines perform?

There are process types for photoresist stripping including immersion type, in which a number of workpieces are dipped into stripper solution all at once, and individual process type, in which stripper solution is sprayed onto workpieces individually.

What kind of chemicals can be used?

Alkaline aqueous solution and organic amine chemicals are usually used.
